At PPS, our health and safety policy is an integral part of our responsibility to our customers and employees. We aim to prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health as well as provide adequate control of health and safety risks arising from work activities.
We ensure adequate training for employees, to confirm that they are competent to do their work. We use safety toolbox meetings to engage and consult with employees on day-to-day health and safety conditions and provide advice and supervision on occupational health. We have department leaders who are ready to implement emergency procedures – evacuation in case of fire or other significant incident. As well all management maintain safe and healthy working conditions, provide and maintain plant, equipment and machinery, and ensure safe storage/use of substances.
We are actively implementing and maintaining a health and safety management system in accordance with the province of Alberta standards. Our next step will be receiving our Certificate of Recognition (COR), as we continue to create a proactive and safe workplace.
We believe all injuries are preventable and aim to make sure a “Safety Attitude” is a part of everyone’s mind-set.
